Investigator's Observations

Investigator(s): John Morley

This investigation was conducted as a result of an incident that allegedly occurred in Angelina County, Texas in March 2008.

I spoke at length with the witness in late April regarding this incident report, actually submitted by her husband. I determined that the witness initially did not say anything to her husband who was driving their truck.

The witness and her husband were heading south on Highway 69; she was looking out the passenger window for elk and buffalo, which frequently seen on this ranch. The time was late afternoon.

The observer indicated that she goes by this location every day, often with the windows down, and normally smells nothing peculiar. She claimed that on this particular day, she smelled an unpleasant odor. Although the area of the sighting is wooded, through an opening in the trees and brush, the witness reportedly saw a seven-foot-tall figure as it stepped over a very large log. The subject was reportedly walking on two legs, in an upright posture but slightly stooped forward. The witness recalled seeing one arm swinging and the right leg rising as the subject stepped over a log. The claimant stated that she did not believe a man could have stepped over the same log due to its very large size.

The witness described the subject as tall and slim, with legs and arms appearing very long. She went on to further describe the subject as "like a basketball player with hair." The witness said that based on its size, she could not "fathom the creature being a man." She described the head as round and the hair as long and straight. She estimated the distance from the subject to the front gate by the highway to be about 150 feet.

Although, in the original report, the subject was described as having the build of a gorilla and being covered with hair, during the interview, the witness stated that what she saw actually seemed more ?man-like,? as opposed to ape-like, but was certainly not a man.

During the interview, the witness spoke clearly and with much conviction; I found her statement to be compelling. I believe that she told the truth and plainly believed that she saw exactly what she described.

This report may be modified later to include photos.
