The TBRC is pleased to announce that a crew from MDM Productions LLC will be attending the 2010 Texas Bigfoot Conference to interview and possibly film witnesses. The independent motion picture, entitled Skookum, is currently in pre-production.
The story line of the movie follows the desperate efforts of a woman to find her sister who disappeared in the wilds of Louisiana while filming a bigfoot documentary. The culprit appears to be a sasquatch, so she secures the assistance of a hunter, a guide, and a bigfoot expert to assist her in her search, but she must ultimately “rely on her own devices” to learn whether a sasquatch, or something more sinister, is responsible.
The producers have chosen key people for involvement based not only on their expertise and talent, but also on their respect for sasquatch research and witnesses. Dr. Jeff Meldrum, for example, has worked extensively with the producers on numerous drafts of the script to create a film that is both authentic and plausible. Louisiana bigfoot researcher Rob Gaudet, who has extensive experience working on independent films, will be helping to direct the film.
The film’s website is scheduled to go live within a week. Each person interviewed at the conference will be acknowledged on the website and provided with a film credit, along with a DVD copy of the film. Each interviewee will be asked to sign a release form to allow their image and content to be publicly shown in perpetuity in relation to the film. The interviews should not last longer than thirty minutes.
The TBRC is happy to help support projects that endeavor to portray the sasquatch in an open-minded and biologically feasible manner.
